Mindfulness Through Motion
Our classes are designed to help you improve your mindfulness and mental well-being. Gentle breathing exercises and continuous flowing motions allow you to develop an inner ‘chi’ and relax your mind.
The expression ‘Mushin no shin’ (ç¡å¿ã®å¿), is a Zen expression meaning ‘the mind without mind’. Our exercises will allow you to develop an ‘empty mind’, which is not fixed or occupied by thought or emotion, and you will feel yourself flow with the movements without conscious thought.
You will gain many benefits from learning and training with us. Improved balance, flexibility and posture, hand and eye coordination, strengthen and build muscle tissue, stress release and personal development to name a few. It’s also a great way to make new friends.
The movements within our classes will vary each week, however, will include the following elements:
- Warm Up
- Key Exercises
- Kata (or form)
- Breathing/calming the mind exercises
- Warm Down
Completed my 2nd class today and feel so calm and relaxed. Lovely friendly group run by Nikki who guides you through the moves with patience and encouragement.
Really recommend Bonsai Chi. Because of my disability I needed something I could do without having to get on the floor. I really feel this has helped me.
Just had my 5th session and I'm already feeling the benefits, Bonsai Chi brings both Physical & Psychological balance, my job is stressful & I find Bonsai Chi is teaching me to relax & ease the tension in my body.
Nikki's approach to teaching the class is very relaxing, I feel very at ease learning new moves weekly with a very friendly group & on the plus coffee & biscuits after. Cheltenham Martial Arts is very clean & you're exercising in a light open-spaced area. Looking forward to wearing my Bonsi Chi t-shirt next week!
Another great session today. Bonsai Chi not only helps your fitness with gentle flowing movements but encourages breathing and balance techniques. Nikki the instructor is both knowledgeable and approachable. It is a friendly group in a relaxed atmosphere. A cup of tea can be enjoyed after class. Highly recommend for all ages.
This is a gentle way to exercise. Nikki is patient and everyone is very friendly. Good fun.
I enjoyed my first Bonsai Chi class at the Botanist. Nikki makes you feel very relaxed and helps you step by step. I focused on nothing else but the moves and breathing. I came away feeling totally chilled. I would recommend a class to anyone especially if you need to switch off from busy life as you really need to focus on the moves. Thank you Nikki.
Bonsai Chi sessions can now be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. The classes will improve your physical and mental health. Enjoy the feeling of moving meditation, reduce stress levels, creating positive energy levels.
No equipment is required, just a safe area to move around in.
